The refinement system in Ragnarok Online adds an element of risk and reward to the game, as players must carefully consider when and how to upgrade their equipment. It's essential to balance the potential power increase against the risk of failure, especially when dealing with valuable and rare items. Players often use various strategies, such as refining during specific in-game events or with the assistance of character builds designed for better success rates, to optimize their gear.
With that said, we have decided to remove the 'Safe Limits' when it comes to refining any type of equipment. This decision comes with a new set of success/failure rates shown in the table below.

Along with the refinement rates mentioned above, in order to sufficiently burn Zenies, refinement costs will now multiplied by the refine level of your item. Let’s say you’re refining a +4 Muffler to +5, you’ll have to pay 25,000z. (5,000z * RefineLevel 5).

We also introduce enriched refining with the use of Enriched Ores. Below are the refine table for Enriched Refinement:

For enriched refining, the cost will be 20,000 zeny per level. Same principle of the refining cost above will be applied.
Catalyst Conversion:
You may find the Catalyst Conversion NPC on all the refinement maps.
All One-handed and Two-handed staffs will now also receive bonus MATK per refine.
